Mickey and Minnie were found completely alone in a heartbreaking and unusual place, beside an abattoir. Whether they were abandoned there or somehow became separated from their mothers, we’ll never know. What we do know is that two frightened little lambs needed help.
Soon after arriving into care, Mickey became seriously ill. He was diagnosed with a severe case of coccidiosis, a parasite that attacks the gut and can be life-threatening in young lambs. Thankfully, with prompt treatment and dedicated care, he made a full recovery.
Both Mickey and Minnie arrived wary of people, and learning to trust has taken time. While they’re still building confidence, every gentle interaction, every head scratch, and every favourite treat helps them realise they’re finally safe.
Their greatest comfort, however, has always been each other. Whether they’re grazing on fresh grass, sharing a quiet nap, or exploring side by side, their friendship is unmistakable. Watching these two find security and happiness together has been a privilege.
Mickey and Minnie are now thriving, and they’re ready to find a forever home where their beautiful bond can continue to grow.
