Mr Claus has recovered well from the Joint ill that saw him very lame when he arrived. Although the infection has cleared, sadly he has been left with some arthritis. Mr Claus currently has many good days with the occasional not so good one when he is quite stiff in his movement. He is someone who will need to be monitored closely. As long as his good days far outweigh the number of not so good days he has a life well worth living. If Mr Claus reaches the point where the not so good days become too frequent, we will need to reconsider his future. This is something that none of us want to think about but, at the same time, we always consider quality of the life the most important.
Mrs Claus has recovered so well from her surgery during which a plate was inserted to heal a broken bone. She is walking and running and using all four legs! Although Mrs Claus is not quite as relaxed around her human carers as Mr Claus is, we are still so happy to see this pretty, young girl on the road to a full and happy life.
