Serena is a beautiful young lamb who we think will give all the others a run for their money in the competition for World’s Cutest Lamb 2023! She was found by the farmer sitting in the middle of a paddock, unable to stand or walk. As yet we don’t know the exact cause but will continue to investigate to see if we can get to the bottom of the problem. We hope that Serena has just a temporary paralysis that will soon improve and allow her to again run free and happy with all the other little lambs.
It is lucky that Coco is very cuddly and sweet because she has an extremely adorable and irresistible face that means nobody can resist giving her snuggles and love. She loves her bottles and has a VERY healthy appetite. Coco, who has a very loud baa for such a tiny lade, isn’t afraid to proclaim loudly that it’s bottle time.
Coco is a bright and healthy lamb except for the fact that her back legs have not developed properly in utero. We can’t pinpoint the exact cause but the joints in her back legs from the hips down calcified and fused as she was developing in the womb leaving her with little movement in them. Coco has very cleverly found a way to get herself around despite her deformity. She will be learning how to use a wheelchair too which she has already taken for a test drive.
Coco is currently being cared for as an only lamb with supervised interactions with Kazoo, Lou and Radar.
Coco absolutely loved sitting in the sunshine today, it’s been so long since we have enjoyed a nice day. Of course everywhere she goes, her giant hay bowl does too. She only nibbles on a couple of pieces but it’s important that she can fossick through and find the best bits.
Both lambs are lucky enough to have found their forever home at Shear Existence Sanctuary.
