Monique and Geoffrey started life under very different circumstances. Monique was orphaned when her mum became ill after giving birth. Lucky for this dear little girl, the farmer was aware of the situation. He took her into care and then contacted us to see if we could give her the care that he was unable to. Geoffrey was one of triplets and, although his mum was healthy, she could not cope with raising 3 babies. Poor little Geoffrey, who was smaller and slower than his 2 siblings, was left behind in the paddock. He was also lucky to be found by the farmer and surrendered into care. With so many sheep and lambs already on their properties, some farmers cannot cope with bottle raising these lambs who, for a variety of reasons, are left on their own without their mum. The lucky ones reach our care and we thank those farmers who do contact us.
Monique is a determined young lamb who knows her own mind and what she wants out of life. When she sees a bottle she waits for no other lamb! She is the first to find the heater and places herself right in front of it. Geoffrey is a good balance for her. He is easy going and relaxed, happy to let her take the first bottle as long as his follows immediately after. Luckily Monique is happy to allow him to share the heater! Monique is the leader of the 2 but Geoffrey is always there just behind her to keep her company. They spend their days wandering around their carers home investigating everything that catches their attention. At night they are happy to sleep without causing any fuss until they hear their breakfast being prepared in the morning. Then they go from sound asleep to full energy in a matter of seconds 😊
