LCA is a strictly non-breeding organisation so we are happy to announce a first for our organisation!
When Ariel arrived earlier this year with a broken leg that needed to be amputated, none of us had any idea that she was carrying a lamb inside her. It was only a couple of months ago that her carer began to suspect that Ariel may have been pregnant. After weeks of speculation as to when her baby would be born, Ariel gave birth during the week to little Miss Lainey Mae.
Lainey Mae is curious about the world around her and has gorgeous ears that stand out when she is up and about. Unlike most ewes who give birth, Ariel will never be separated from her baby but will see her grow up into another beautiful sheep.
Lainey Mae has stolen the hearts and time of her carer and her family as there is nothing more meaningful for them than to watch this girl explore and bond with her mother. In the words of her carer “The bond that Ariel and Lainey Mae have is truly special.”
