Sweet, gentle young Gremlin has just arrived into care. At only 6 weeks old this dear little boy has been failing to thrive. Initial tests have indicated that he is severely anaemic due to internal bleeding. A high white blood cell count indicates that he probably has an infection or severe inflammation so he is on a course of antibiotics as a precautionary measure. Gremlin also has a mass in his intestines for which, at this stage, vets have not been able to find an explanation.
Gremlin will probably require exploratory surgery but, due to the internal bleeding, this is currently far too dangerous. For now, the only course of action available is to treat the possible infection and consider giving Gremlin a blood transfusion.
This beautiful young boy deserves a wonderful life but has a hard and long road ahead of him. At this stage we don’t know where that road will lead him but we will do everything we can to make the end destination as special as he is.
