For Dante’s carer it was love at first sight with his crooked little jaw, swollen face and a tiny skeleton covered in a fine layer of wool. Dante’s face was covered in puncture wounds from a fox attack with one bite penetrating his lower jaw bone causing a fracture. Despite being in obvious pain Dante’s instinct to survive outweighed the trauma of his injuries all he wanted was a feed. We are pleased to say Dante is now doing very well.
Update 16 June 2024
Dante arrived into care just over a month ago after surviving an attack from a fox. He had a broken jaw and a number of wounds to his head. As a result he was only able to feed using a modified lamb teat. Dante has been gaining weight and healing well over the past month and just had a follow up vet visit and X-ray to check his progress. Dante’s results show that his jaw has healed completely, even correcting itself slightly so he was given a clean bill of health by his vet. Dante will be able to be weaned and there should be no issues with him eating hay, grass and chewing his cud. After such a traumatic start to life, he has a wonderful future ahead of him now.
