Almost 12 months on and Heidi is a happy and healthy sheep who lives at at special needs forever home with her friends Cleo and Maurice. What a difference a single act of kindness by the people who found her has resulted in. We are ever so grateful to the family who now cares for Heidi and her friends.

Never have we seen a lamb arrive in such pain. In order to save Heidi’s life, and after much consultation with a lamb specialist, the decision was made to have the leg amputated. Following the surgery, Heidi was up and walking within an hour indicating to our great relief that the decision had in fact been the correct one.

Poor little Heidi has come into care with a severe case of joint ill. This is a bacterial infection often seen in baby lambs. Heidi is around 2 weeks old so the infection has had a while to take hold. Today her affected joint was flushed and the fluid sent to pathology. Heidi is in a significant amount of pain which will hopefully subside as the antibiotics begin working. We are giving her lots of love and supportive care.
