Approximately 15 million lambs die on Australian farms every year during their first 48 hours of life. These deaths are largely due to being abandoned by their mother shortly after birth often in the case of twins or triplets because the mother is unable to care for all her babies. Lamb Care Australia is a not for profit organisation that fosters and rehomes some of these lambs who are born during the lambing season in Victoria. Lambs surrendered to us are placed into specialist care for the initial stage to establish an acceptable level of health prior to being placed with a FOSTER CARER. They are then placed into a PERMANENT HOMES following the weaning period where they will live out their natural life span. A secondary aim of this organisation will be to educate the public about the plight of these lambs and help people to make more compassionate lifestyle choices in regards to animals.
